New Hall is a boarding and day school for girls and boys aged 3-18 years. The spacious and scenic school site is dominated by the former Tudor palace of Beaulieu, once owned by Henry VIII.
The highly successful ‘diamond model’ structure: co-education in the Preparatory Divisions, single-sex education in the Senior Divisions and co-education in the Sixth Form, enables the school to provide the best of both worlds, the benefits of a co-educational environment together with the advantages of girls and boys being taught separately during the formative years of adolescence.
In 2018, GCSE and A Level students achieved impressive results, with over 36% of A Level grades at A*-A and 71% A*-B, whilst 55% of GCSE grades were A*/A or 7+ and 86% A*-B or equivalent. The school has an established Oxbridge programme, with a successful track record of offers from both universities.
New Hall is committed to developing its facilities. A Nursery for children aged 1-3 opens in September 2019; Pre-Prep pupils enjoy the use of school woodland, as part of the Forest School initiative; and a new Science Centre is currently being planned. The Preparatory Division at New Hall is going through an exciting period of expansion, with additional classes being added in Years 3-5; places are available for September 2019.
The co-curricular provision in music, performing arts and sport is outstanding; national and regional successes abound. Sports facilities include: a national standard athletics track, floodlit AstroTurf pitches, 3G pitch, fitness centre and gym, floodlit tennis and netball courts, cricket and rugby pitches, and a 25m indoor swimming pool.
High expectations and achievements, along with outstanding pastoral care, make New Hall a wonderful place to be educated.
