To celebrate the launch of Land of the Tiger, Chessington World of Adventures Resort is running a competition to give one lucky family four tickets to visit the new Land, home to four endangered Amur tigers, along with access to the entire Theme Park and Zoo for the day.
Launched in May, Land of the Tiger features Europe’s first overhead big cat trails, plus an exhilarating log flume ride, Tiger Rock, with a 15-metre misty waterfall drop. Guests can also join experienced Carnivore Keepers for mesmerising tiger experiences.
The Amur tigers, Tsar, Kalinka, Olga and Kyra, travelled from Sweden to Chessington World of Adventures Resort. With less than 500 of the species left in the wild, the Chessington Conservation Fund has committed £20k in 2018 to support endangered tiger conservation efforts – specifically to WildCats Conservation Alliance and a project to develop an effective human-tiger conflict resolution strategy in Northeast China, where the Amur tiger is commonly found.
Complementing Land of the Tiger and Tiger Rock, four new tiger-themed bedrooms have been introduced to the Chessington Safari Hotel.
Some info about our tigers:
Tsar // The chilled one.
The only male and the largest of the group! He enjoys being on his own and he’s very laid back. See if you can spot the swan like marking on his face.
Olga // The adventurous one.
The most adventurous out of them all. She’s the leading lady. Spot her from the others by the black spots on her nose and her slightly torn ears.
Kyra // The curious one.
A curious character, she loves training. You can pick Kyra out by her markings on her face, which is a tick and also a reverse tick.
Kalinka // The feisty female.
She’s not a lover of training due to her short attention span. With markings similar to Tsar’s, but hers make a rough heart shape, which is half black and half white.
